On luxury and helplessness
„The program“ – the first ever solo performance in GI theatre history. The role will be performed by the actor and establisher of the GI theatre – Gytis Ivanauskas. The Thirteenth is one man‘s confession, the story about the dual personality, inner fights and the burden of one‘s self.
To strip away everything – luxury jewellery, costumes, make up, social facade – the price you have to pay to get back to your true self. This is the only way person can choose to survive and grow – to face up to your own experiences and emotions: love, fear, helplessness. “I work when I am feeling down, because when I am happy, I do not wish to explore and grow and change my situation” – using L. J. Lagarce words speaks the author of the play.
The scene is set in the backstage of a theatrewith a person who has devoted his life to it. Like a well wrapped gift he removes the layers of his life piece by piece. The facade of life is stripped away with nowhere to hide. The program. The life programe, show program, concert program, therapeutic program, computer program..
Music, made by Leon Somov & Jazzu, is the actor‘s only companion and partner. This authentic and innovative electronic music band work not only in Lithuania but also throughout Europe.
